The production process of the White Rigid PVC Sheet process is not complicated. The ordinary production line is generally composed of a rolling machine, a printing machine, a back coater and a cutting machine. Films with a thickness of only 0.3 mm to 0.7 mm are produced, at the same time of production and by printing the design on the front of the film by a printing machine, and attaching a backcoat to the back of the film by a backcoating machine. But don't underestimate this layer of back coating, it is an important guarantee of high-quality performance.
The back coating is composed of special materials and is a high-energy affinity agent. It is precisely because of this back coating that it can be tightly integrated with MDF or other boards, and it will not be glued for ten or even fifteen years. Due to the high degree of crystallinity, this material has good surface stiffness and scratch resistance properties. White Rigid PVC Sheet is free from environmental stress cracking issues. Usually, modification is carried out by adding glass fibers, metal additives or thermoplastic rubber. The flow rate MFR ranges from 1 to 40. Materials with low MFR have better impact properties but lower ductile strength. For the same MFR material, the strength of the copolymer type is higher than that of the homopolymer type. Due to crystallization, the shrinkage rate is quite high, generally 1.8~2.5%. And the directional uniformity of shrinkage is much better than other materials. Adding 30% glass additive can reduce the shrinkage to 0.7%.
Both homopolymer and copolymer White Rigid PVC Sheet materials have excellent resistance to moisture absorption, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and resistance to dissolution. However, it is not resistant to aromatic hydrocarbon (such as benzene) solvents, chlorinated hydrocarbon (carbon tetrachloride) solvents, etc. It also does not have oxidation resistance at high temperature like PE.
